			Dr. Schmale is an Assistant Professor of Mycotoxicology and Fungal Plant Pathology in the Department of Plant Pathology, Physiology, and Weed Science at Virginia Tech. He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University, and his B.S. from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Schmale was born and raised in San Diego, California. He loves to fish, hike, and drink fine wines with his beautiful wife, Jessi.
