			D'Lourdes Cuadra recently completed her training in the Schmale Laboratory as part of a program at Virginia Tech called the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). Originally from Peru, D'Lourdes worked in the field to process late blight samples for a plant biosecurity project, and she conducted an independent research project on trichothecene mycotoxins.
