Price Hall

Price Hall is one of the oldest buildings on campus, and houses the administrative offices for the department. Facilities include:
  • Department office
  • Research and extension laboratories and faculty offices
  • Hatzios Library

Latham Hall

Latham Hall is a state-of-the-art agriculture and natural resources research facility.
  • PPWS faculty in Plant Pathology and Physiology
  • Extensive shared research resources (growth chambers, LC and GC mass spectometry, advanced microscopy, molecular biology instrumentation).
  • Molecular Plant Science program

Glade Road

The Glade Road Research Center includes:
  • Laboratory for Molecular Biology of Plant Stress.
  • Greenhouses.
  • Air pollution laboratory
  • A herbicide, fungicide, and insecticide handling facility
  • Field plots (turf, ornamentals, vegetables, field crops)

Other On-Campus Facilities

  • The Kentland Farm
  • Urban Horticultural Center (managed by the Department of Horticulture) - indoor work area, field space, and equipment for research that supports the nursery and landscape industry as well as other commodities, located about 3 miles from campus
  • Turfgrass Center (managed by the Department of Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences) - turf, ornamentals, wild flowers, etc. Much of the department's turf weed and disease investigations are conducted at the Turfgrass Center, located on the main campus
  • The Miles C. Horton Research Center - air pollution research, located within 1 mile of the main campus
  • The College of Argriculture and Life Sciences greenhouses located on the main campus.

All of these facilities are generally available for any faculty member of the Department and constitute a valuable resource for teaching, research, and extension missions.

Off-Campus Facilities

Agricultural Research and Extension Centers (ARECs) are located throughout the state in proximity to the major crop production areas, affording excellent research and grower-cooperation opportunities for faculty and graduate students. Faculty at these stations have access to offices, laboratories and field plots.
